Katy and Eric's E-Session

All Aboard! Welcome to Katy and Eric's Engagement Session. Enjoy the ride. All kidding aside..yes it's a train theme. We headed over to the Strasburg Railroad for a cool November morning. I must say that I am so excited for their wedding...they are a cute but fun couple. I have been waiting to have their e-session but weekends for these guys are booked up..Katy is finishing with student teaching and Eric started a new teaching job in the fall AND they both help coach with a high school band...with that season over it was now time to think about wedding season.

Hope you enjoy! I know I did.

a Fab Fun Family

The Rochats are a fun family. All 5 kids are adopted and all have a sweet special something that was fun to get to know. When Laurie (mom) and I connected about taking pictures of her family, we connected right away on a personal level which really made this session such a blessed time. Since the session was held at their house (which was amazingly landscaped) .. when it came time to take individual portraits, I asked if there were special spots that each person would like to have their portrait taken. Each kid selected a different place in the yard..one near her precious cat that was buried, another in a little cove made out by the bushes all around, etc.

I hope you enjoy just a small sampling of the great portraits we created on this day.

Adorable!

Every once in a while you just meet a little one that you wish you could take home..oh my this little one was it this week. She would just look at you with those big eyes and man did they talk. I hope you enjoy these just as much as she had taking them!!

Cute!

Most of my readers know that photographing newborn babies is not my favorite thing to do. Of course I will photograph them when I am Water Street but I don't go out seeking that work..hey, we all know our talents and that's just not my strength. Once these precious children hit 6 months..I'm good to go! I just like it better when they run around (or crawl around) my studio setup. I know sometimes I am crazy.

This young lady really did not want anything to do with me that night. She was dealing with 4 teeth popping out and well, let's just say the tears were flowing. But I did capture a few images that I hope her mom will like.

Update Regarding Special Kids Photography Accreditation

YEAH!! I have passed step one for the accreditation. There were 2 tests to take..one all about different special needs and specific considerations, etc and the second test was a technical test for knowledge about photography.

The next step is to submit photos to be judged nationally. So now, I have to decide which photos to submit..hmm..and I'm having a hard time because I've grown attached to all the families that I photograph and especially those with special needs children.

I'll write more once the process is further along. Thanks for all of the support!

The Hummer's

Kristin called and asked if I would photograph her family and by family she meant Carver the dog too. We met at Founders Hall in Hershey and it was wet wet wet..I have some favorite spots there that I had to abandon because it was a marsh..and wet dog is no fun. But it was a fun sunny afternoon and the girls were great and had fun choosing a prize from the treasure chest. I did apply some creative artistic touches to a few of the pictures but aren't the girls the cutest...oh and the dog too!
